In April 2016, Hankyu Railway announced plans to rebuild the “Kobe Hankyu Building East Tower” in conjunction with Kobe Sannomiya Station (Kobe City). This high-rise building, scheduled for completion in 2021, will be approximately 120 meters tall and include commercial facilities, a hotel, and offices, with a total floor area of approximately 28,500 square meters. The 29th floor will house an observation deck and restaurant, the 17th to 28th floors will be dedicated to the hotel, and the lower levels (from basement 2nd to ground 3rd) will feature commercial facilities.
Additionally, there are redevelopment plans for JR “Sannomiya” Station, which will result in a high-rise building of approximately 160 meters in height. The lower floors will host commercial facilities, and the upper floors will accommodate a hotel and more. The development also includes a station square (approximately 12,000 square meters). These comprehensive redevelopment projects aim for completion in the fiscal year 2021.
